Towards the end of September I photographed a wedding for Janice and Andrew at Brook Queensferry Hotel in North Queensferry. Janice is a friend who I met at work around two years ago and roughly one year ago she booked me to photograph her wedding at this rather interesting hotel.
The hotel rooms themselves are quite plain but the restaurant has a nice feel about it but for me, and I believe most couples, the main attraction of this hotel are the views of the Forth road and rail bridges, they look fantastic in photos. One of my favourite touches of the day was the wedding cake topper. Andrew is a driver for Lothian Buses and so the topper is absolutely perfect.
It was also really nice to catch up with Janice on the day and I saw one of my other ex work colleagues there so that was really great. Janice and Andrew were also kind enough to feed us on the day which was very much appreciated. Thanks guys!
I also had a different assistant at this wedding, my mother. Liv at the time of this wedding was suffering from really bad morning sickness and she was feeling really burnt out (she’s really busy with both college and work) so out of convenience my mother was staying just outside of Stirling for a short holiday and I asked her to come along. She’s been wanting to photograph a wedding for some time now and her camera skills are ever improving so it was a great opportunity for her and a big help for me.
In terms of other things going on right now, I’ve been really busy editing wedding photos from recent weddings. Between shooting this wedding and posting it online I’ve photographed four other weddings and I have another big wedding coming up in just over a week so as you can imagine I’m really busy. Even so, I’m enjoying shooting weddings even more than ever and have some exciting photos and events coming up in the near future.
So here are some of my favourite photos from the day. Hope you enjoy…
