Today we visited Ci You Temple (慈祐宮 in Chinese) which was built in the mid 18th-century in the Songshan District of Taipei. While I’m entirely unreligious I do appreciate the architecture of both temples and churches and it fascinates me how ornate some of the decorations on temples can be.

Both sadly and fortunately Chinese New Year was taking place while we were in Taiwan. Fortunately because I got to partake in proper Chinese New Year celebrations and not poor Chinese New Year celebrations we experience in the UK but it was also unfortunate because everywhere was incredibly busy so I couldn’t take my time taking more panoramic images in the city.

More information about Ci You Temple can be found here
