One of the coolest parts of Taipei that we went to was Dadaocheng which is just to the West of Taipei city centre. Dadaocehng is really popular for recreation as it’s by a river and has a lot of cycle tracks. As well as the water Dadaocheng has some really superb markets with a variety of products. The first four photos below are examples of the markets in Dadaocheng ans show some of the spices and medicines one can buy but literally opposite this shop was another shp where you can buy bones. The bones shop, which is in the fifth photo, sold everything from bones in a bottle to full sized shark skulls. Interesting.
Typical architecture in Dadaocheng. Very different to more central Taipei but shows it’s more industrial side.
Dadaocheng Wharf. I took these photos just as the sun was starting to set but there are a number of boats.
