Today I had the great pleasure of watching the Nocturne Cycle Races in Edinburgh. Before I got into photography my life was all about cycling. In my final year of cycling, which would have been 2003 (scary to think it’s 7 years ago!) I did roughly 12000 miles but then I had a huge accident in which I smashed some teeth, lost of a lot of blood and ended up with metal screws in my face (which are still here) and facial scarring.

Anyway, I got to watch the awesome David Millar race. There were some really good riders in the race but Millar absolutely tore everyone apart, it was an awesome display of power and speed. It made me laugh that the commentators suggested some of the riders might be tired but Millar had just ridden the Giro d’Italia which will be a damn site more tiring than a domestic race.

I really can’t wait for the race to come back again this year. I’ll be taking a lot more photos again.
