Today we went to Jioufen to have a look at the photogenic S Bend road which I had seen in photos as well as go to the goldmine and waterfall. Jioufen was completely different to what I had seen in photos before but the valley in the large panoramic is what I really expected the whole of Taiwan to look like, even though it doesn’t.
It’s an interesting place with all of it’s streams and the most interesting feature is the golden waterfall, made golden from the goldmine on top of the mountain. We had hoped to go to the goldmine, which unfortunately was closed, as well as take some pictures of the s-bend roads at night but without our own transport this was impossible.
