I really love seafood but have yet to experience really good seafood in the UK. While in Taipei, we went to this really popular Japanese restaurant. By Taipei standards it’s quite expensive but relatively cheap in the UK. The food and service were exquisite, the manager kept checking we were ok and took our order and they would for example, bring a whole live king crab to our table before cooking it to check it was up to the standard we expected.
Amongst the things we ate, we had scallops, foie gras, king crab, lobster, langoustine, soup, japanese massaged beef and mocha ice cream.
Next time I go back to Taipei, I’ll definitely be eating here again and would highly recommend anyone that even remotely likes seafood to go there.
My wife who runs a food blogging website has written an in-depth review about Mitsui which can be found here: http://eggwansfoododyssey.com/2011/04/24/mitsui-japanese-restaurant-taipei-review/
