Xi’an has some of the tastiest food I’ve ever eaten. I blogged about Xi’an previously but it really was one of my favourite cities when we visited China. Quieter than Shanghai it has some absolutely amazing food. The highlight for me was the Xi’an lamb kebab which we bought on the street affectionately known as Muslim Street.
Between two of us we ate between 30-40 large skewers of lamb, including lamb meat, heart, liver etc, a big bowl of lamb soup, a naan-type bread and 5 or 6 bottles of beer. Total cost: £8.
Just repeat that. £8!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since then I have been begging Liv to make it and she finally made it. One of the luckiest things about Liv being my partner is she can eat something and 9 times out of 10 she’ll recognise all of the ingredients in a dish. This kebab tastes exactly like the one we had in Xi’an.
