FAQs

Why do I need drone footage?
To stand out from your competition. Especially in London, not a lot of people advertise properties with drone footage but drone images and videos can help to make your property really stand out. Get a drone up in the air, show your building from multiple angles and show customers what's in the area

Which drones do you use?
I have two drones, a DJI Mavic 4 Pro and a DJI Avata 2. The Mavic 4 Pro is DJI's latest top of. the range drone and can shoot up to 8k video footage and produces both video and photo files with astonishing detail.
The Avata is a completely different type of drone. This falls under the category cinewhoop and is much more maneuverable and can be flown indoors. You also have to wear goggles to fly this but the footage is amazing.

How long does drone footage take to capture?
Drone footage is really quick to capture. The latest modern drones can be launched within several minutes and are highly mobile.

Where can you fly?
This is the greatest challenge. Most parts of London are without permission no-fly zones, which includes royal parks, many boroughs and the numerous flight paths. Battersea for example has a helipot so flight times are restrictiv and you can't fly within 5k of an airport. But it is possible to request permission although this can take time and a paid permit is often required.
If you're interested in using. my drone service, I can tell you if and when it will be possible to operate the drone.

What is your experience flying drones?
I have been flying drones since 2019 and have undertaken hundreds of flights all around the country. I'm also a CAA-licensed drone pilot with public liability insurance.

Any other factors?
The weather! These drones aren't waterproof so any rain, I can't take off. My drones are also rated to fly up to a certain wind speed. The Mavic 4 Pro can be flown in winds up to 26mph, so quite windy but definitely not gale force. Any water or strong winds, for safety reasons flights will have to be postponed.
How much does drone footage cost?

Any drone footage starts from £140 an hour, with a minimum of 1 hour. This price is based within the London outer ring road. For jobs outside of London, based on time, prices will go up.
What file types can you provide?

Anything you want. I shoot raw and can provide psd's, tiffs, jpegs, whatever you want. Videos are usually supplied as mp4 video files.
How is drone footage delivered?

Everything is supplied via Dropbox and/or WeTransfer. Dropbox is the most efficient but some people prefer WeTransfer. Both are completely free to download with and don't require you to sign up for an account.
Drone regulations
There are many regulations that have to be conformed to before flying a drone. Before every operation I will perform a pre-flight check which includes checking for local flight restriction zones, liaising with air traffic control and essentially checking everything is safe and legal.
Condition tests will also be made on the day of flight including humidity and wind tests. Please note drones can’t be flown for safety reasons if it’s too windy or raining.
As a London drone property photographer, I can advise you about absolutely everything to ensure safe operations.
