AirBNB Glasgow. A few weeks ago I was contacted by Andrew who owns BNBbuddy about taking some photos. BNBbuddy are a property management company based in central Edinburgh that basically deals with holiday homes. I’m sure you’ve heard of AirBNB, which to use their excerpt from Wikipedia; “Airbnb is an American company which hosts an online marketplace and hospitality service, for people to lease or rent short-term lodging including vacation rentals, apartment rentals, homestays, hostel beds, or hotel rooms.” Well BNBbuddy and AirBNB aren’t affiliated but they do the same kind of thing.
Andrew contacted me with a view to taking photos for him in Glasgow and if you look through this website you’ll see I’ve done a really large amount of property/hotel shoots in Glasgow, so I think he assumed I’m based over there but of course I’m in Edinburgh. Regardless of location I do love going to Glasgow, I much prefer Glasgow as a “city” than Edinburgh so going over there is the perfect excuse to grab some delicious “Glasgow only” food.
So I popped over to Glasgow a few weeks ago, took some photos of a really lovely apartment just off the city centre and now I’m doing semi-regular work for them. It’s the perfect arrangement for both of us as they contact me when they have at least a couple flats available then I go in and take photos for them. Quite differently to previous shoots, they’ve asked that I put on all the lights in the flat to make them look “warmer”, to make them look like someone actually lives in them, but so far the results have been great and everyone’s happy.
So far I’ve photographed the one apartment in Glasgow and four in Edinburgh. I’ve got another couple to do this week then who knows what. The apartments have ranged from the relatively affordable (by Edinburgh standards) to the mega expensive but I love seeing different properties so I’m really enjoying this job so far.
