AirBNB Property Photography Edinburgh
This last week I photographed another two AirBNB style properties. One was in the New Town area of Edinburgh, specifically just off the city on Union Street which heads down into Leith, and the other was on the High Street, which is otherwise known as the Royal Mile.
That day I had quite an entertaining day as I originally had 5 jobs planned for the day but we’ve suddenly had a lot of snow so two or my jobs had to be cancelled so I was left with photographing a small amount of cars for Toyota followed by these two properties for BNB Buddy. The High Street property was typical Royal Mile, quite small but it’s on the Royal Mile(!). So if one is going to Edinburgh to visit the Fringe, see the Military Tattoo or even go to Hogmanay then it’s in a really great location. I tend to stay away from the Royal Mile if I can, again because it’s so full of tourists (and it’s bloody expensive) but I was impressed with the location but also the accommodation itself. For a couple it’s perfect.
The property on Union Street is a stunner. I checked the value of the property afterwards after the shoot (just out of interest) and it’s over £600,000. It was an amazing 3 bedroom property with a huge kitchen. My wife Liv had to go to hospital that afternoon with a corneal abrasion so she was feeling a bit sorry for herself so I took her along and she was massively impressed with the kitchen.
In case you’re curious about how she got her injury, she’s practically blind without glasses or contact lenses and a few years ago when she worked as a chef her eyes got particularly dry and when she took her contact lenses off she ended up ripping her eyeball. Very nasty! Recently we’ve both been working super hard and she was particularly tired one night and the next morning the rip had come open again. In the words of the doctor it looked like she had a tear the shape of Australia on her eyeball. Thankfully she’s recovering well anyway.
So back to the shoot, BNB Buddy asked if I can put all the lights on again for the photos, to make the property look warmer, and it was really easy to photograph. In fact both properties were super easy to photograph and right now I’m really enjoying this kind of work.
