London restaurant photographer. Pretty much a year ago almost exactly I was booked by Spotty Dog Communications to photograph the relaunch event for All Bar One on George Street Edinburgh. I don’t tend to go out around George Street too often for a few reasons; it’s way too busy, two it’s almost impossible to park and really bloody expensive and three the bars and restaurants are nice but generally really overpriced and over-pretentious.
Now my experience with these restaurants is different to the casual person as I’m usually working so people treat me differently (generally more professional but some staff can be ignorant of me trying to work) but several years ago I went to Browns Restaurant for a meeting and for food and drinks and it was a good experience. Browns recently had a big refurbishment and my task was to photograph the restaurant from multiple angles with a real emphasis on the bar and the private dining rooms.
I went to Browns the day before the relaunch so everything was still happening but everything was really organised with people moving out of my way, fans being turned off, etc etc and it was a really good shoot.
These last couple of months have been insanely busy with photographing properties for Airbnb and while this is effectively still a property shoot it’s nice to photograph a commercial property instead.
Just in case you’re wondering about the food, I didn’t have any food, even though I was offered (I wanted to get on with work) but it looked and smelled absolutely delicious.
As mentioned this was photographed in Edinburgh but I have now moved to London. if you’re looking for a London restaurant photographer, whether it be for photos, videos, floor plans, drone shots, VR tours, or a combination of some or all, please contact me here.
