I have a confession. I’m a car freak! I absolutely love cars, read all about cars, dream about cars and a large part of my photography nowadays is taken up with car photography. I’m still shooting loads of weddings and other kinds of photography but since the beginning of July I’ve been photographing cars for a number of different dealers in the Edinburgh area.
Basically this job involves around 12 visits per week over three days, taking up around 15 hours from taking the photos to editing them, pays the same as a full time office job and allows me to network and importantly for me have a bit of social time.
I’m by no means a “billy no mates” but I am very much a family person so I tend to stay at home a lot of the time (this is especially normal nowadays I believe with the whole Facebook thing) but I do enjoy the car photography a lot.
I also had a car crash recently which has made my job a wee bit more interesting. My insurance company coughed up a courtesy car for a couple weeks, a 2010 Vauxhall Corsa, which was a blast to drive but I will be buying a new car in due course.
So anyway, here are just a few photos which I particularly like. It probably looks like a Land Rover worship post but while Land Rover’s are out of my budget right now they do make perfect family cars in my opinion. Big, luxurious, fast, brilliant.
