City Chambers Registry Office Wedding
City Chambers Registry Office Wedding. So I finally captured my first wedding in the new registry office part of City Chambers. As you’ll see from this website, I photographed many dozens of weddings at the new retired Lothian Chambers literally just across the road, but councils will be councils, make strange decisions and open a new registry office.
But surprisingly it’s actually really nice inside. I was shown around the registry office parts of City Chambers around two weeks before it officially opened and at the time it looked absolutely terrible, but they really turned it around. Of course it looks very different to Lothian Chambers but it’s a nice space and looks really great.
So for this wedding I was booked around five days before the wedding. I know the groom, Andrew, and he’s very much a get it done kind of person so he only wanted to book me for an hour or so. I actually met up with the wedding party quite a bit earlier as they were staying at the fabulous Rock House on Calton Hill. I’ve written about Rock House before on this website, which I photographed for Airbnb and it’s simply stunning and on the day of the wedding we had really beautiful wedding so the grounds with the Calton Hill monuments in the background looked awesome.
I was at Rock House for around 30 minutes then the guys walked to City Chambers and the girls drove/caught taxis/etc. The ceremony took around 15 minutes and was short but really nice then we did a couple group shots in the courtyard outside and some couple’s photos over the road around St Giles.
And that’s it, a short, funny, really nice wedding at a venue that I’m getting quite a few bookings for. Looking forward to sharing more weddings.
