Corporate Event Photography Norton House Hotel. Just recently I was hired to photograph one of my favourite types of people/paid photography work; corporate event photography. I absolutely love shooting weddings but it’s really important at least for me to also shoot other kinds of events, just to keep up my interest in photography.
I don’t really get a chance to shoot a lot of personal photography, which largely involves panoramic photography, but these kinds of corporate events are great as they are generally quite slow paced, at least compared to weddings where you’re on the move non-stop. I also nearly always get fed at corporate events which is always much needed and very much appreciated (for the record I had a chicken curry which by hotel curry standards not bad at all).
So this event was for a company called William Grant & Sons and was held in the Garden Suite at Norton House Hotel on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The last time I shot an event here I didn’t have a car so it turned into a nightmare getting there and back but with a car this hotel is in an ideal location that is really easy to get to.
Well, it should be if everyone single road in Edinburgh didn’t have roadworks. Seriously to the contractors, council, whoever decides roads need to be dug up, you suck and yeah, the tram is the biggest farce/failure ever!
Back to the event, my day involved photographing speakers, groups doing their activities and also taking a group shot of everyone who was in attendance. In total I took over 150 photos but here is a small selection of the photos from the day.
