Corporate Portraits Edinburgh

Corporate Portraits Edinburgh. I had a really busy autumn with weddings in which at one point I photographed five weddings in just two weeks but now the wedding side of things has died down a little bit I’m now super busy with my other photography work.

This includes food photography, car photography (the latter of which takes up two days of my week) and other work. I’m doing a time-lapse project for a major site on Princes Street, which I’ll write about, and I’ve also picked up some other jobs photographing properties and hotels as well as doing the odd portrait here and there.

One such job was shooting some corporate portraits for an asset management company in the centre of Edinburgh. Balmoral Asset offer a wealth management service to select clients and they needed updated headshots of all their staff. I have no idea who the previous photographer was but many of the portraits were grainy, had no “pop” as we like to say and were pretty awful.

I was asked to provide the portraits in black and white and to use a setting close to some really large bay windows in their conference room. The original idea was two headshots, one closer up, one head, shoulders chest, but I provided a whole portfolio of images which included close up headshots, head-shoulders-chest, full-body and “presidential shot” at the end of the conference table. I called it the presidential shot because quite a few people were really nervous in front of the camera so you add a joke here or two and people usually relax.

I also provided everything in black and white as well as colour, so they had a real selection to choose from. As well as the headshots I was also asked to do some publicity shots which I believe would go in the Scotsman newspaper.

So here is a selection of photos from this corporate portrait photoshoot. I didn’t choose any of the shots over others for any other reason than to show off a selection of photos but this was a lot of fun to do.
