Recently I’ve had a really nightmare time with personal events. First of all two weeks ago I had a car crash which wrote off my car, this was then followed by a big lens failure and then I’ve had the flu twice in as many weeks (thanks Amelia!). But on the flip side I’ve received a few really short notice bookings and one of these bookings was for a couples shoot around just a few locations in Edinburgh.
Carla and Ryan are from Canada and as is the case with all of the couples/families I’ve worked with from Canada they are absolutely lovely. In fact just a few days ago I shot a wedding at Dalhousie Castle for a couple from Canada and they, along with Carla and Ryan, are one of the nicest couples I’ve ever worked with. But back to this shoot, I drove Carla and Ryan to a few of my favourite spots in Edinburgh including Old Town, Dean Village, the Royal Botanical Gardens and Calton Hill. I also gave them a big kind of tourist trip where I showed them places like Fettes College which is the venue that inspired KJ Rowling to write Harry Potter.
I also gave them lots of advice about eating out and dropped them off at one of my favourite fashion stores, Joey D’s in Canonmills where Carla bought herself a pink kilt.
Below is just a really small collection of photos taken on the day but I enjoyed this shoot so much. I also received the amazing news after the shoot that Ryan had proposed to Carla. I only spent about three hours with the couple but I could instantly tell they are an absolutely perfect couple and I really couldn’t be any happier for them.
These pictures of Carla and Ryan are absolutely fabulous. I can’t wait to see the pink kilt! Carla had a good time with you.
