Romantic. Fun. Great moments.
Take photos with your partner. It’s fun, a great gift and a perfect activity for the two of you to do
I know how you feel, neither of you find it particularly comfortable being photographed. Generally you might take photos of each other with your cameras or smartphones and perhaps even take selfies but taking a selfie is very different to having your photograph taken.
There’s nothing wrong with selfies, although selfie sticks are another topic, but seriously you might not have any really good pictures of the two of you together. Whether you’ve been together for five months or fifteen years, there’s never a bad time to have photos taken with your partner. I capture real emotion and love between couples usually in a variety of locations around Edinburgh. I can go outside of town but will need with help researching locations but in Edinburgh we have beautiful little village areas, Harry Potter inspired schools and of course the Forth of Firth with it’s fabulous backdrop.
My shoots usually involve going to two or three locations and capturing both romantic and fun photos with a variety of backdrops. Couples shots are completely informal, a lot of fun and if you’re getting married or even thinking about it they are a great dress rehearsal.
You will receive beautiful photos that can be used as gift cards, invitations for an event (including weddings of course), framed prints for your living wall room, Facebook, in a great album, for scrapbooking and much more. There are many possibilities and I will help you with ideas both before, during and after shooting so that you may be able to use your images in the best possible way.
What does a couples/engagement shoot involve?
You get all the best pictures edited in full resolution and ready to use. You can do literally anything you want for personal use.
You will receive a set of prints with the shoot but if you want meet and need help arranging printing, I can either do the prints myself or assist with printing elsewhere
We can take photos wherever you like. It could be where you live. In the park. By the sea. At a loch in the highlands. There are multiple possibilities and I’ll be more than happy to offer tips and ideas.
There’s no real set time for engagement shoots but generally two to three hours works for most couples. This allows for travelling around, taking lots of photos, having a chat and also allows some time to discuss planning your wedding.
If you decide to book me for an engagement shoot at first then a wedding later I’ll discount the price of the engagement shoot.
Engagement shoots start at £200.

Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh Engagement. This September has been one of the weirdest in terms of weather that I can remember. Every year around the 10th to the 12th I do annual group shot for a local pipe band and always around 7pm. I’ve been doing this for
Lauriston Castle Engagement. In the last couple years, maybe once or twice a year, I end up photographing a wedding for a friend and this was my friend’s wedding pre shoot for 2015 captured at the lovely Lauriston
Just a couple blog posts ago I blogged an absolutely fantastic wedding for Simon and
