Events and Group Photography
Over the last few years I’ve photographed all kinds of different events. These have ranged from choir concerts to 300 plus people in a group to corporate workshops to lifestyle events to more.
Events come in all shapes and forms and I’ve photographed a number of events throughout the Edinburgh area. These range from outdoor events like the Loony Dook to parades in the Old Town to things like corporate events in and around Edinburgh. Below are sections about the different types of events I have photographed as well as example photographs and links to these events.

Corporate Evenings / Awards Presentations
Corporate Functions and awards presentations are really great fun to be part of. Generally there is a really relaxed environment and for the events I’ve photographed before I’ve been required to photograph people receiving their awards as well as ambient photos from those events. A very popular event for these types of functions is Norton House Hotel which I have visited a few times. It’s close to the airport, the hotel itself is lovely and the facilities are superb for business purposes.
If you’re a wedding photographer you’ll almost certainly be hired at some point(s) to do some group photography. I’ve photographed groups ranging from just 10 or so people (aside from weddings) to 300 plus students for freshers week.
Every group has it’s own challenges but that’s why you hire a professional photographer. I have a tremendous amount of experience working with groups and have very unique ways of getting the best out of them.
Inevitably one of the first things many photographers do when they become seriously interested in photography or even work as a photographer is music photography. I dabbled with a tiny bit of band photography right before I started to get serious about photography but almost a decade after I started working as a photographer I’ve started to photograph a few music related events.

Last weekend I photographed something completely new, a bike ride. If you know me or ever read anything about me you’ll know before I got into photography my real passion in life was cycling. It’s now 10 years
Today’s post is a super long one in terms of images but just today we had a really special local event. Here in Edinburgh we absolutely love our festivals, whether it be the Fringe Festival, a book festival, a science festival or even a food festival. There’s almost always
It’s taken me a couple months to get round to posting this online but this May I photographed my first graduation ball. I’ve photographed a few wedding receptions at the Balmoral Hotel which sits on the East side
A few years ago just after I moved to Edinburgh I captured some interior shots and panoramic/virtual tour type photos of St Johns Church on the West End of Princes
So it’s just turned 2013, Happy New Year! And to start 2013 off this is a really light hearted event I went to today. Every year for at least the last 26/27 years in South Queensferry, north of Edinburgh, there’s an event called
