Events and Group Photography
Over the last few years I’ve photographed all kinds of different events. These have ranged from choir concerts to 300 plus people in a group to corporate workshops to lifestyle events to more.
Events come in all shapes and forms and I’ve photographed a number of events throughout the Edinburgh area. These range from outdoor events like the Loony Dook to parades in the Old Town to things like corporate events in and around Edinburgh. Below are sections about the different types of events I have photographed as well as example photographs and links to these events.

Corporate Evenings / Awards Presentations
Corporate Functions and awards presentations are really great fun to be part of. Generally there is a really relaxed environment and for the events I’ve photographed before I’ve been required to photograph people receiving their awards as well as ambient photos from those events. A very popular event for these types of functions is Norton House Hotel which I have visited a few times. It’s close to the airport, the hotel itself is lovely and the facilities are superb for business purposes.
If you’re a wedding photographer you’ll almost certainly be hired at some point(s) to do some group photography. I’ve photographed groups ranging from just 10 or so people (aside from weddings) to 300 plus students for freshers week.
Every group has it’s own challenges but that’s why you hire a professional photographer. I have a tremendous amount of experience working with groups and have very unique ways of getting the best out of them.
Inevitably one of the first things many photographers do when they become seriously interested in photography or even work as a photographer is music photography. I dabbled with a tiny bit of band photography right before I started to get serious about photography but almost a decade after I started working as a photographer I’ve started to photograph a few music related events.

This year I wanted to really check out the Fringe Festival but sadly I've not had much time. I've either been doing photography work or I've been doing my IT job but with family commitments I just haven't been into town that much. But I did manage to walk through...
Last year I watched the Edinburgh Nocturne Cycle Race from West Bow and it had one of the top British riders ever racing in it but this year I wanted to capture the race from a different angle. The folding bike race was awesome to watch as ever. Last year it was
Two of our best friends are Michael and Anja from Austria. I met Michael through work and since then he has become a really good fried as well as Anja who is really lovely. As well as Michael's job, he's also a member of Stockbridge Pipe Band. When he was living in...
Tonight I photographed an event for iCheme at Norton House Hotel in Edinburgh. The one thing I love about events is everyone is completely different. Wether it's a performer at the Fringe Festival, a pride parade or even a chemical organisation, I get to meet a range...
This is my last post of images for the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, for at least 2009. This was really the last day I visited the Fringe and I saw my absolute favourite act. The juggler at the top was really funny, he engaged with the crowd and even though
Over the last few days I've been out and taken more photos of the Fringe Festival that takes place every year in Edinburgh. This time I had a rare walk down to Cowgate and saw this fantastic pink bus. I didn't want to pay to go into it but as you can see it has a lot...
