Food Photography London
Recently I’ve been doing a lot of Food Photography in Edinburgh and Glasgow. I recently picked up a contract where will send me to restaurants throughout mainly Glasgow (with a little Edinburgh work) where I have to take some photos of the restaurant and some food.
The setup for these shoots is quite simple due to the number of restaurants I have to visit per day. Largely most photos are done on a tripod with as much natural light as possible and some fill light. Some restaurants it’s impossible to setup a full lighting rig, some there’s no need. For example the first photos here were taken at a Pizza restaurant called Firebird. They had both the most fantastic natural light coming in and right near the front entrance they had some really old wooden crates which are absolutely perfect for food photography.
The second restaurant in these photos (the ones with the burger) is Indigo Yard which is here in Edinburgh and specifically in the West End. I only got a chance to eat food at the last of the restaurants in the post but all of the food at Indigo Yard looked really delicious and the chef who I spoke to was really nice. The bowl of pasta belongs to a restaurant at the Rotunda in Glasgow.
The final restaurant is a Pizza Restaurant in central Edinburgh called Nova Pizza. When I was booked to visit them you often think “ah, it’s just another pizza restaurant” and when I got there I had a look at the menu and could see they only sold vegetarian pizzas. I’m not a vegetarian at all. But I tried one of their pizzas which had if I remember correctly some blue cheese in it and it was absolutely stunning. In fact I will say it’s one of the top ten pizza’s I’ve ever eaten outside. Their prices are also pretty decent.
Unfortunately they don’t have a website but you can find them at 42 Howe St, EH3 6TH. Check them out.
As mentioned this was photographed in Scotland but as of October 2022 I’m now living in London. if you’re in need of any food photography London, please contact me here.
