This is my first blog update in nearly a month and it’s irritated the hell out of me that I haven’t had a chance to update it sooner but I really haven’t had the time. Just recently I photographed a wedding at a brand new venue for me, the Glasite Meeting House in New Town.

So what’s been going on? Work, work and more work. So far this month I’ve photographed two weddings with another two coming up at the end of the month but I’ve also had a pre shoot, a few wedding meetings but I also photographed the Regimental Ball at Dreghorn Barracks just like I did last year.

I’ll be blogging the Ball at Dreghorn Barracks really soon as well as the other wedding I’ve shot this month. I’ve also got a couple weddings from before July to blog but nowadays my time is taken up with looking after my daughter and I also have a regular photography job which pays really well but takes me out on the road three days a week.

On the 16th of July I photographed a really cool but unique wedding for Andy and Sarah at a new venue for me and the first wedding at this venue, Glasite Meeting House. The Glasite Meeting House is located on Barony Street in the Canonmills area of Edinburgh and the history of the Glasites dates back to 1730 when John Glas who a member of the Church of Scotland began to question the beliefs of the Church of Scotland and founded his own religious sect, the Glasites.

The Glasite Meeting House was built in 1836 and incredibly, this venue retains most of it’s original features. This building is owned by the Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland and the full history of this really unique building and it’s origins can be found here.

But back to the wedding, the venue was absolutely unique and both Andy and Sarah were really nice and easy to work with. Andy is an artist and certainly many of the guests looked quite arty.

After the wedding, which incidentally was held at 9.30am (!!!) we all headed over to Spoon Cafe on Nicholson Street which has an absolutely delightful interior. I didn’t hang around long enough to see any food but I certainly intend on heading over there again with Liv and Amelia in the near(ish) future.

And what else is going on? Work, work and more work! I’ve got two weddings coming up at the end of this month, a wedding at the beginning of August them I’m heading down to Yorkshire for a week (at least!) for a break. My mother is hosting a big barbeque with about 40 guests and there will be loads of really delicious foods to eat. We’ll also leave Amelia with my mother for a day or two so we can go to the cinema, go to the coast, go shopping etc.

Hope you like the photos below.
