Your Home Reader Homes March 2017 Property Photography
Your Home Reader Homes March 2017 Property Photography. Bit of a proud moment today but last autumn I was contacted by a freelance writer, who in turn had been contacted by Your Home magazine, about photographing a property in Motherwell, which is just a few miles from Glasgow, for their March 2017 magazine.
Your Home do something called Reader Homes where they feature real people’s homes. I gathered from Clare who’s home I visited that her publicist contacted various media channels and Your Home decided to do a feature on her home. And that’s where a lot of the property shoots that I do come from, from people wanting to publicise their own businesses. A lot of the Made.com photoshoots I’ve done are for interior stylists while Clare runs her own business Top Drawer Diva who specialise in underwear making classes for parties, hen parties as well as doing workshops and classes for all ages. Pretty cool!
So I went to Clare’s house in Motherwell and my task was to take some wide angle shots of rooms, some closer up product shots, a photo of the house outside and a few pictures of Clare working. I also took some photos of her working in the kitchen and all-in-all it was a really good shoot. Clare was really nice to deal with, her home was lovely, it wasn’t that far from home and it gave me a chance to do some shopping in Glasgow. I also popped over to see my friend Arja who got married at the Stirling Highland Hotel in Stirling in August.
And that’s another property shoot done. I’m doing quite a lot of these lifestyle shoots nowadays and they really are good fun to photograph. The only downside of this job is it takes months to be paid which is far from good but it is awesome seeing my photos in a magazine. I had almost forgotten about this shoot but the last two days of the month are always invoice days for me and I just remembered by this shoot by chance. So I popped over to WhSmith’s yesterday and bought two copies.
I’ve included real photos of the magazine below.
