London car photographer. In my last blog post I wrote about a fabulous 1950 Austin Atlantic A90 that I photographed for A1 Classic Cars in Drem (20 minutes outside of Edinburgh, very close to North Berwick). They are in the process of shutting down so amongst all of their awesome old cars (very old Bentleys, Ford Model T, etc etc), they are selling so far a couple via Historics who do car auctions for older cars.
The first was the Austin Atlantic and the other is this Iso Rivolta. Prior to this shoot I’d never heard of Iso but it turns out they were designed by an Italian chap called Renzo Rivolta who designed a number of cars with the Rivolta coming out around 1970 and what a car. This model is a 1973 ISO Rivolta Lele Couple. On the outside it looks very cool but the interior is something else (awesome) and the engine is magnificent. The engine is a big-block 5.7 litre V8 that generates 325bhp (in 1973!!!!). By today’s standards the engine is nothing but back in those days cars didn’t have things like catalytic convertors so you hear the full sound of the engine and it sounds bloody fantastic!
I’m a huge car person and if I had more time (had lots of shoots that day) and it didn’t waste the owner’s time I would have loved to have done some sound recordings but it sounded amazing. The car is up for auction here. Very impressed with both cars!
