Lothian Chambers Prestonfield Hotel Wedding
Lothian Chambers Prestonfield Hotel Wedding. Some people book their weddings a few weeks in advance, some months and some even years. For example I booked a wedding just a few days which will take place in December 2017 but for today’s wedding I was literally given around two weeks notice. Thomas and Sarah, who are from Australia, are both quite shy people and from what I gathered before they weren’t too keen on having their photos taken but Thomas’ mum, Karen, contacted me a couple weeks before their wedding to say that she insisted on them having some professional photos taken and to see if I’m available.
This spring I have some weddings and I’m still working almost every day as a photographer but the wedding side of things is a little quiet (from July onwards I’m really busy with weddings) so of course I was available and it was a fairly brief but really enjoyable wedding. They got married in the McIntyre Suite at Lothian Chambers and the plan was to take photos of the ceremony, take a few family and couple photos outside and that was it. The wedding party were staying at Prestonfield Hotel and there was a little discussion before about whether I would take photos there or not and originally it looked like not but when I told Sarah and Thomas about the Highland Cows they have at Prestonfield they changed their mind.
Prestonfield has a small garden house to the left hand side of the building and I was hoping to take some photos of Sarah and Thomas inside but sadly it looked like the hotel was doing some renovations but nevermind, the weather was absolutely and it made no difference. The grounds of Prestonfield are really beautiful and the interior even more so. I took a series of photos in the gardens, a few inside and my day was done. In all I was with the wedding party for around 3 hours and the whole wedding was a pleasure. Thomas and Sarah, while really photo shy, were lovely to talk to and work with, the wedding was perfectly sized at around 17 people and we had great, if slightly cold, weather on the day.
