Today I photographed my first even Lothian Chambers Registry Office Double Wedding. Both couples have been long term friends and work with each other so for the first time ever in my case both couples Helen and Terry, Anne and Adrian decided to get married at exactly the same time at Lothian Chambers.
It’s really interesting but I rarely photograph weddings in the City of Edinburgh suite nowadays but I actually really like the space in the other rooms and the Melbourne Suite suited their wedding absolutely perfectly.
I met the grooms to be in the Scotsman Hotel with the aim of taking some photos in there but we sadly didn’t have time to take any photos so we headed over to Lothian Chambers for their ceremony. It was originally Helen who booked me and discussed everyone’s requirements and one of the things they wanted to do was do a short drive around a couple spots in Edinburgh to take some contrasting photos.
The ceremony itself was a typical Lothian Chambers ceremony. Ceremonies at Lothian Chambers rarely last more than 15 minutes but it was short and sweet. Following the ceremony I took both couples individually into the upper lever at Lothian Chambers to take some photos then finally brought but couples outside for some group shots.
Following photos at Lothian Chambers we all jumped into their wedding car and headed first over Arthurs Seat for photos followed by Prestonfield with it’s really beautiful gardens. We finally ended up at the National Museum of Scotland completely unannounced and after a barrage of “attitude” from the staff in there we were allowed to take some photos. The attitude was especially disappointing as the couples had booked a meal at the Tower Restaurant, effectively part of the museum, so I thought it would have been a nice finish to the day.
So apart from the bad attitude at the National Museum of Scotland it was a really great day (well, 2 hour booking). The couples were absolutely lovely to deal with, the ceremony was great and the few venues we visited suited the wedding perfectly.
Here are some of my favourite photos from this Lothian Chambers Registry Office Double Wedding.
