This year I’ve been really quiet on the smaller weddings side of things but much busier with the larger weddings. In general the wedding business has been a bit weird, maybe the competition has changed but I’ve talked to other photographers and some organisers at different venues and they’ve all mentioned they are down considerably on bookings.
Take for an example a photographer gentleman I was talking to a couple days ago. He photographed a wedding at the weekend and I forget the name of the venue he photographed the wedding at but he asked how they are doing with bookings this year and they said they’ve gone from 50 or so weddings a year to literally half a dozen or so this year. Ouch!
So with that in mind I thought it would be interesting to put together a collection of favourite wedding photos I’ve taken at Lothian Chambers Registry Office in Edinburgh Old Town which is where the majority of the smaller weddings I do have been captured. Over the last several years I’ve photographed (guessing) around 40 weddings and it really is one of my favourite venues. There’s lots of light, the staff are really nice to work with and it’s in an ideal location for both myself and wedding parties.
This blog post focuses on photos taken inside Lothian Chambers Registrars Office but I’ll be doing another blog post with more favourites taken outside Lothian Chambers in probably a couple weeks time. Also despite the Fringe finishing over a month ago there are still tonnes of events going on in Edinburgh which I will hopefully be photographing and in just a few weeks it’s halloween which we’re desperately excited about as we’ll be dressing our daughter up and possibly going trick or treating.
Hope you like the selection below.
