London property photographer. Hands down I think this has to be one of my all time favourite properties. I photograph a lot of properties every month and I really do see the full spectrum. Properties that I photograph go from the cheapest of the cheap to the most expensive and ironically some of the most expensive properties I’ve photographed have been the worst (tacky, gaudy, boxy, you name it) but a couple weeks ago I photographed a property at Rutland Square (dangerous area for me as I’ll explain below) and it was simply awesome. I loved it.
Rutland Square sits at the West End of Princes Street and is very dangerous for me as Kyloe sits at the beginning of the street. If you’re not local or haven’t heard of Kyloe, Kyloe is a sensational steak restaurant that isn’t cheap but is seriously damn delicious. I could easily blow a couple jobs worth of money there in a meal and it’s completely worth it but I have to seriously resist the temptation.
But joking aside, Rutland Square is a really lovely part of central Edinburgh where I occasionally do jobs for a local finance company and also used to park to take photos at St John’s Church when I was doing the timelapse project there.
This property has an interesting layout. It’s a townhouse which you access from the basement but covers the basement and ground floor. The owners, of whom I met Sarah (who was absolutely lovely btw) occupy the top two floors which they access through the ground door.
Photographing properties is often an unknown, you really don’t know what to expect, but from the sliding back doors to the kitchen to everything, I loved everything about the property. Sarah’s flat allows tonnes of light in (at least on the ground floor and at the rear downstairs). This property can be rented via Airbnb/BnbBuddy and I really can’t recommend a nicer apartment or host to rent from.
