Student property photography London. A little earlier this year I was hired to photograph a number of student properties for a large online student property booking website. I won’t mention the name of the company I worked for but think of it as like a Airbnb of student properties.
In the space of three weeks I was originally supposed to photograph 15 properties around initially Edinburgh (I did a trip to St Andrews as well) and there would be an element of styling with some of the properties. What this meant is rather than photograph just really plain boring empty rooms the rooms were to be decorated to a standard which looks like people live in them.
The company I worked for provided a large box full of props (flower pots, bedding, picture frames, clocks, etc etc) and I also used some of my own home furnishings for some of the properties. Fortunately for the sake of hassle a lot of the properties were already stylised to a perfect standard so apart from moving some things around everything was pretty straightforward.
As mentioned this was photographed in Edinburgh but I now live in Barnes, London. If you’re looking for any student property photography London, please contact me here.

As you’ll see above there isn’t an awful lot of text but there isn’t a tremendous amount to write about this job. I will say I was really impressed with some of the student properties I visited. If I didn’t have a family and if I was a student I’d quite happily live in a few of the properties. It was also really good to travel around with work and to make an excuse to visit St Andrews for the first time.
I happened to visit just as the big golf open was about to kick off so driving into St Andrews was a bit interesting with the traffic but St Andrews itself was really pretty and we’ll definitely be back to visit again.
I also really getting back into this kind of work. I kind of stopped doing property photography for a few years but after the large amount of work I did for Tripadvisor earlier this year as well as the hotel shoot at Fonab Castle I’m really enjoying this kind of work again.
