Taipei 101 panoramic and inside

taipei 101 inside

One of the main things I wanted to see in Taipei was the Taipei 101 tower which at the time of visiting Taipei was the tallest operating building in the world.

I won’t babble about the construction or design of the 101, this has been done elsewhere much better than I can do, but suffice to say the building is really impressive with an impressive array of designer shops inside. Liv had bit of a drool about the Fendi shops but our favourite shop was for OSIM massage chairs.

Something that really made me laugh about Taiwan is how many homes have massage chairs. Maybe it’s because people work long hours? Anyway, my body is in far from ideal condition so I had a go in a chair that reclines then massages you with quite a lot of force. It was a little painful but I felt absolutely amazing afterwards. Sadly these chairs cost up to £5000 in the UK but they’re definitely worth trying.

Also in the 101 is a really great foodhall in the basement. Similar to Whole Foods in the US you can buy gorgeous meats, great bread and anything else you want. I sadly didn’t take photos of the foodhall as it wasn’t really appropriate but if we go back again I will.

At the bottom of this post are panoramic images I took of the 101 tower from Elephant Mountain.

Hope you enjoy just a few photos from inside the 101 tower.

The two pictures above are for the front of a Japanese restaurant in the 101. We didn’t go in as Liv’s grandmother was cooking for us that day but they had a huge array of colourful bottles.
