Wedding Photography in Edinburgh and Scotland
Are you Getting Married? How amazing!
I truly love wedding photography, it’s amongst if not my favourite type of photography. Over the past 10 years I’ve had the huge pleasure of photographing over 250 weddings. Even now after covering some venues dozens of times I still absolutely love my job. I love meeting new people and feel very lucky to be able to take a major part in their special wedding days.
Whether it’s a two hour registry office wedding or a 12-plus hour trek to Perthshire or further I absolutely love wedding photography.
So why hire a photographer? My uncle can take amazing photos and my friends phones take amazing photos? There are a multitude of reasons why you should hire a professional photographer. We have the experience and knowledge of how to work in every situation, we’re timekeepers on the day, we advise people what to do and of course we take really amazing quality photos.
While there’s always an element of posed photos at a wedding (group shots, couple’s shots after the ceremony) I largely work in a discreet fly-on-the-wall manner. My job is to capture special moments from the day but I also like to have fun with couple’s and wedding parties, especially during group shots. I’ve found a combination of semi-formal, fly-on-the-wall humorous photography provides, in my opinion, the best and most natural images and allows both the bride and groom, as well as their guests, to enjoy the wonderful day.
My style is best described as light, natural, genuine and unpretentious.
Venues I’ve covered over the years include Lothian Chambers, The Caves/Rowantree, Prestonfield House, Dalhousie Castle, Edinburgh Castle, The Hub, Ballathie House, Aldourie Castle, City Chambers Edinburgh, St Giles Cathedral, St Leonard’s Pollock Halls and so many other venues I can’t even think of while writing this. I will admit almost all of my wedding work has taken place around Edinburgh but I’m perfectly happy to travel.
