Are You Getting Married? How amazing!
I love my job! I love meeting new people and feel very lucky to be able to take a major part in their special wedding days.
I have had the pleasure of photographing over one hundred weddings, almost all of which have taken place in Scotland, and every wedding is completely different to the next. Whether it’s a two hour registry office wedding at the beautiful Lothian Chambers or a full day wedding at the amazing Prestonfield House Hotel I love all the weddings I do.
I work in a discreet manner and I work in a fly on the wall manner throughout most of the day. There is always an element of posing at weddings with group and couple shots but I inject a lot of humour to relax couples and thus get much better photos. This combination of semi-formal, fly on the wall and humorous photography provides in my opinion the best and most natural images and allows both the bride and groom, as well as their guests, to enjoy the wonderful day.
My style is best described as light, natural, genuine and unpretentious.

Leapark Hotel Grangemouth Wedding. I'm not really sure why it's taken me so long to blog this wedding but towards the end of 2015 I photographed a wedding for my good friend Colin and his no wife Stacey at the Leapark Hotel Grangemouth. I met Colin in 2009 when we...
The last wedding I have to share for 2016 is this really interesting Lothian Chambers McIntyre Suite Frankenstein Wedding. Why is it interesting? Well the couple came up from Wolverhampton which is close to where I lived for almost nine years. I lived in Birmingham...
My last wedding of 2016 was this Lothian Chambers Apex International Wedding that I photographed just a week before Christmas. Ellie and Joe flew over from New Zealand to get married at Lothian Chambers and I still find it mind
Lothian Chambers Winter Wedding. Happy new year to you! I thought I'd start this year off with my penultimate wedding of 2016 and also write about some things that are going on with my life. It was my birthday yesterday and I've turned the grand old age of 37. I...
Mallard Hotel Gullane Wedding. I love picking up referrals and one referral came through a friend who works at one of the car dealerships I regularly take photos for all. I also used to work with this friend at the most god awful company I have ever worked for, Sykes,...
Dalhousie Castle Scotland Wedding. Easily one of my favourite venues and in my honest opinion the most beautiful castle in the Edinburgh area is Dalhousie Castle. I've shot a few weddings there and this year I had the pleasure of capturing two weddings. The other...
G&V Hotel Lothian Chambers Wedding. Perhaps once or twice a year I end up in the G&V Hotel in Old Town Edinburgh to take photos but in the space of 24 hours I was there twice to photograph a wedding reception for one wedding and preparation shots for the next....
Lothian Chambers Gay Wedding. It's really funny for me how I won't visit a venue for a wedding in a year then suddenly I will visit twice in a really short period. In this case I visited the same venue, the G&V Hotel in Old Town, for the first time in around two...
American Wedding in Edinburgh. Something ultra cool in my opinion. Exactly five years ago to this day I wrote about a wedding I photographed at Lothian Chambers for Ashley and David, which was a small but really lovely wedding. This always stuck with me as it was the...
